Everyday Drugstore Makeup Tutorial

I’m not going to lie, I love all makeup! High end makeup. Drugstore makeup. Indie makeup.  I have a bit of everything in my kit and use it all. There’s a reason I became a makeup artist!  I know for many buying high end makeup is just not in the budget though and that’s ok. You can create any look you want with makeup found in the drugstore.

This tutorial is a daytime look using all inexpensive drugstore makeup. It’s a great option for those that are budget conscious. These products are tried and true by me. Products I trust and would recommend to anyone.

This look is perfect for everyday wear and won’t cost you a fortune! All these products you can buy at your local drugstore but you’ll notice I use a lot of NYX products. Their quality is amazing and the price can’t be beat. Plus you can buy it just about anywhere. It’s one of my favorite budget friendly lines.

Steps For Everyday Makeup Look

Prime eyes with Elf Cameo Concealer.  Then set that with NYX Mineral Powder.

Next apply shadow in windshield wiper motions into the crease. Use NYX Ultimate Palette in the peachy color

Continue using NYX Ultimate Palette. Choose the brown color just above the peachy color. Use the same brush and apply just under that peach color on the outside of the lid.

Now blend. Use a clean brush like the MAC 217 to blend the colors together so you don’t see any lines and it looks seamless.

Go back to the NYX Ultimate Palette and use same brush to add the brown color with a little shimmer close to the lash line

Now go in with a flat shadow brush like the MAC 230. Still using the NYX Ultimate Palette, choose a shimmery lighter color to add to the center of the lid

For liner, I use Elf No Budge Retractable Eyeliner. Go in close to the lash line. Then use the Makeup Forever Thin Liner Brush with nothing on it to go over the liner and smudge it out.

Apply mascara like Loreal Lash Paradise in blackest black.

It’s time to color correct the areas that need it.  I love to use the NYX Conceal Correct Contour with a concealer brush. Use a peachy tone to correct under eye circles.

Now use  L’oreal’s True Match Liquid Glow Illuminator to give you that glow on the high points of your cheeks.

For foundation try Superstay Full Coverage by Maybelline. I love this one because you can build it where you need it, but you can also use a very light amount too if that’s all you need. The goal of foundation is to even out your skin.

For concealer use the Elf Cameo Concealer we used in step one. Go under the eyes and then anywhere you need a little more coverage.

To lock the foundation in place use NYX Mineral Powder from step one.

Now you can brighten it up a bit with NYX Matte Bronzer. With a brush, start at the top of the ear with downward strokes and then bring into the hairline.

Apply Milani Blush in Luminoso for a little shimmer.

For lips, use the NYX Slide On Lip Pencil. I love the color bed rose! Next use the Revlon Ultra HD Lip Polish to finish it off.

Let’s move onto brows, brush them up, and then I love this brow pencil by Covergirl in honey brown to fill in. Next set your brows with this brow gel by Elf

Then take a clean pencil brush and swipe a little bit of that crease color that I used from the NYX Ultimate Palette underneath her lid.

Keep your look fresh all day by using  NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray.  You’re done! A fun daytime look that won’t break your budget!
